QUECHUA products undergo rigorous tests at our design centre at the foot of Mont-Blanc, before being tested in the field in real conditions.
Breathability lab tests
The breathability of a material is its capacity to wick away the water vapour generated by perspiration. It's important to wear breathable clothing when doing intense physical activity so you do not stay wet. To determine a fabric's breathability, we test its RET or total evaporative resistance (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour can escape, and the higher the breathability. The RET of this t-shirt is <6 (very breathable fabric).
Field tests in the mountains
Our teams, along with a panel of testers (made up of partners, ambassadors and customers) put our clothing through its paces in the mountains, to ensure it stands up to the conditions you’ll encounter during your hikes.
All our products are tested throughout their development until they go to market.
Decathlon Sportslab
Our Decathlon Sportslab, based in Lille, also contributes to the innovation, development and testing of our Quechua products, to ensure quality and resistance to wear.
